BIKE SERVICING FAQs
Planning a service or repair? Here’s what to know before bringing your bike to our Belconnen or Gungahlin workshop.
Please contact your preferred workshop to arrange a booking. Our workshops get particularly busy from October to May, so booking ahead is essential during these months.
Our Regular Service covers routine checks and adjustments. The E-bike Service adds software and electrical system checks, while the Comprehensive Service includes more detailed cleaning and bearing maintenance. If you’re unsure, our mechanics can assess your bike and provide a free, no-obligation estimate before work begins. Any replacement parts are quoted before fitting.
Yes, we service most brands, including bikes purchased elsewhere. Exceptions include bikes fitted with aftermarket electric conversion kits, illegal e-bikes and brands without an authorised Australian distributor. We do not service or repair e-scooters. Contact us if you’re unsure whether we can work on your bike.
Once booked, you can drop your bike off the day before or between 9am and 10am on your booking day. We’ll call when it’s ready. Please collect it within 24 hours of that call, as workshop space is limited and storage fees apply to bikes left uncollected.
No booking is needed for a flat tyre repair. Bring your bike into either store and we’ll assess it. We can usually complete these repairs on the spot or within a few hours, depending on workshop demand.
Yes. Every new bike purchased from Bike Culture includes a complimentary Regular Service, redeemable within the first three months of ownership. Contact your preferred workshop to book it in.
Yes, we sell and install Ride Wrap frame protection for your bike.
Bike servicing and repairs in Canberra
Since 1999, Bike Culture has been selling and repairing bikes for Canberrans. From everyday commuters to weekend riders, beginners to experienced cyclists, we help people look after the bikes that keep them moving.
Our two northside stores in Belconnen and Gungahlin each have a repair workshop headed by experienced mechanics. Whether your bike needs regular servicing, attention to a problem or a small repair, you’ll find practical advice and local workshop expertise.
Local workshops, personal service
We’re in-store specialists because we believe good bike care starts with a conversation. A noise, a change in how your bike handles or something that simply doesn’t feel right can be easier to explain in person.
Talk to our team about how you ride and what you’ve noticed. We’ll help you understand what your bike needs and explain the recommended work. Before any repair work starts, we provide a free, no-obligation estimate so you can make an informed decision.
It’s the same approach we bring to helping someone choose a bike or find the right fit: take the time, listen carefully and offer honest advice.
A service to suit your bike
Every bike has a different workload. Daily commuting, longer weekend rides and time on the trails all put different demands on your equipment. The right level of servicing depends on your bike’s condition, how much you ride and the attention it needs.
Our Regular, E-bike and Comprehensive service options offer different levels of workshop care. If you're unsure which to choose, our team can help you work out the most suitable option.
We service almost all makes and models. Contact your preferred workshop to discuss your bike and any particular servicing or repair requirements.
Booking your bike service
Bookings are required for servicing, particularly during peak season. Contact our Belconnen or Gungahlin store to discuss the work and arrange a suitable time.
For flat tyres and other small fixes, walk-ins are always welcome. Our team will assess whether the repair can be completed on the spot. If it needs more time, we’ll schedule it into the workshop.
Bike Culture does not sell, service or repair e-scooters.
Proudly independent, part of Canberra
Bike Culture is owned and operated by two locals and is 100% independent. Our stores in Belco and Gunners bring together bike care, workshop experience and genuine advice under one local name.
Every service and every sale helps keep our doors open, our team employed and Bike Culture part of the Canberra riding community. When you bring your bike to us, you’re supporting a small business that has been helping Canberrans ride since 1999.
